2027 UnitedHealthcare and AARP Medicare guidance
UnitedHealthcare and AARP Medicare Plans: Compare 2027 Options
Review represented UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage, Part D, Special Needs Plan, and AARP-branded Medicare Supplement options where available. AARP licenses its name for certain products but is not the insurer.
What to compare for 2027
- Medicare Advantage HMO, PPO, and Special Needs Plan options where available.
- 2027 Part D prescription coverage, formularies, preferred pharmacies, and prior authorization rules.
- AARP-branded Medicare Supplement options where available, including Plan G and Plan N comparisons.
- Provider networks, hospital access, total out-of-pocket exposure, and plan-specific supplemental benefits.
2027 AEP and Medicare Advantage OEP
The Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 through December 7, 2026 for January 1, 2027 coverage. UnitedHealthcare also confirms the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period runs January 1 through March 31, 2027 for people already enrolled in Medicare Advantage.
AARP is not the insurance company
Some UnitedHealthcare Medicare products carry the AARP name. AARP is a membership and advocacy organization that licenses its name for certain products. The insurance contract is issued by UnitedHealthcare or an identified affiliate, depending on the product and state.
D-SNP, C-SNP, Medicaid, Extra Help, and SSBCI
Special Needs Plan eligibility depends on the exact plan and member circumstances. Some qualifying chronically ill members may have access to plan-specific SSBCI benefits, but food, utility, transportation, OTC, or other benefits are not guaranteed and must be verified for the specific 2027 plan.
