The four parts of Medicare and the two routes

Zing Health was founded in 2019 with a focus on community-based Medicare Advantage and health disparities. Its current website identifies selected service areas in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Ohio and Tennessee. The organization operates through Zing Health, Inc., Zing Health of Michigan, Inc. and other disclosed subsidiaries.

Current plan materials state that Zing contracts with Medicare for HMO, HMO SNP, PPO and PPO SNP products in selected states. A carrier formulary identifies Zing Health of Michigan, Inc. as an HMO, HMO C-SNP, PPO and PPO C-SNP organization. These are portfolio facts, not proof that each plan type appears in all six states.

The plan finder begins with state, county and ZIP code because Medicare Advantage has defined service areas. A person in one county may see a standard HMO, while a neighboring county sees different products or none.

Four useful answers

Zing Health is a Medicare Advantage carrier. It is not Original Medicare, and current research did not establish Zing as a Medicare Supplement or stand-alone Part D insurer.

Zing operates in selected counties in six states. Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Ohio and Tennessee are the verified current footprint; statewide availability is not implied.

Zing C-SNPs require condition confirmation. Diabetes, cardiovascular disorders, chronic heart failure and ESRD appear in current carrier materials, but the plan and condition category must match.

Supplemental benefits are plan-specific. A flex card, OTC allowance, transportation or other feature on one Zing plan cannot be advertised as universal.

As one verified example, the 2026 Illinois C-SNP Summary of Benefits lists Zing Essential Wellness Diabetes & Heart IL in Boone, Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, Ogle, Will and Winnebago Counties. A separate Elite plan in that document lists Boone, Cook, Kane, Will and Winnebago Counties and a provider-specific network. This example does not prove other Zing products in those counties.

Carrier and product availability varies by state, county, ZIP code, eligibility, and plan year. Contact O'Neal Insurance Group to learn which companies and plans are currently available in your area.

How Zing Health Medicare Advantage works

Original Medicare Part A helps cover inpatient hospital care, and Part B helps cover outpatient and medical services. It is administered by the federal government. A beneficiary can remain in Original Medicare and consider separate Part D and Medigap coverage.

Zing Health Medicare plans center on Medicare Advantage, or Part C, a private way to receive Part A and Part B benefits. Zing plan materials indicate integrated Part D coverage. Members still have Medicare and must keep paying the Part B premium unless it is paid by Medicaid or another authorized party.

An HMO generally expects members to receive nonemergency care from the plan network and may require primary-care coordination, referrals or prior authorization. An HMO-POS may allow specified out-of-network services under its rules. A PPO generally permits more out-of-network care, often at different costs. Out-of-network providers are not required to treat plan members except in emergencies.

Every Medicare Advantage plan has a maximum out-of-pocket limit for covered Part A and Part B services. Premiums, deductibles, copays, coinsurance and limits vary. Review the 2026 provider directory, Evidence of Coverage and Summary of Benefits, then confirm important providers directly.

Prescription coverage follows a formulary. Zing's 2026 resources publish MAPD and C-SNP formularies with different tiers. Prior authorization, quantity limits and step therapy may apply. Use the drug-cost tool for the exact plan and pharmacy, not a general carrier estimate.

C-SNPs, D-SNPs and government assistance

Zing's current broker materials describe C-SNPs for cardiovascular disorders, chronic heart failure, diabetes and ESRD. Individual plans can cover only some of those categories. A physician or other permitted practitioner must verify the qualifying condition within Medicare's required process, and the plan must serve the residence.

The Zing broker page also references plans for people with Medicare and Medicaid. A D-SNP requires Medicare, an accepted Medicaid category, residence in the service area and other plan rules. State Medicaid agencies determine Medicaid eligibility. Because a complete public 2026 D-SNP county matrix was not established during this review, every D-SNP claim must start with a current plan-finder result.

No current Zing I-SNP offering was established. Do not advertise institutional coverage without an official 2026 plan document.

Medicare Savings Programs may help eligible people with Medicare premiums or cost sharing. Low-Income Subsidy and Extra Help are the same federal Part D program and may help with eligible drug expenses. These are government programs, not automatic Zing benefits.

Part B reductions and flex cards with Zing Health Medicare plans

Zing's current member page says select plans may include a flex allowance for approved dental, vision or hearing cost sharing and upgrades. It also identifies select-plan OTC and transportation benefits. The carrier's wording matters: select plans.

Part B premium reductions, flex cards, and other supplemental benefits are not included with every Medicare Advantage plan. Availability, eligibility, benefit amounts, approved expenses, and participating locations vary by plan and service area.

A Part B giveback is a plan-specific reduction in the amount a member pays toward the Part B premium; it is not cash. A flex card is a payment tool for plan-approved categories. OTC products can be restricted to an approved list, and transportation can require advance scheduling. Food, utility or chronic-condition benefits may require additional eligibility and a completed health assessment.

Veterans and Zing Health Medicare plans

VA health care, TRICARE and Medicare are separate systems. Joining Zing Health does not replace VA coverage. Veterans should review access to VA and non-VA providers, Part D prescriptions, referrals, prior authorization, emergency and urgent care, and travel.

People with TRICARE for Life should contact TRICARE before adding or changing Medicare coverage. Confirm whether military prescription coverage is creditable and how a Medicare Advantage plan could coordinate. The VA and TRICARE—not Zing or an agent—decide military-benefit rules.

Products not documented under Zing

No current official evidence reviewed established Zing Medicare Supplement, stand-alone Part D, individual or family major medical, employer coverage, life, final expense, hospital indemnity, critical illness, cancer, accident or stand-alone dental/vision insurance. Dental or vision embedded in a Zing Medicare Advantage plan is not a separate policy and is not Part of Original Medicare.

An independent agent may compare separate products from appropriately licensed carriers. Fixed indemnity and specified-disease coverage should not be presented as a replacement for Medicare or comprehensive health insurance.

How we narrow Zing Health Medicare plans

A licensed O'Neal Insurance Group agent can help you compare insurance companies and plans currently available in your ZIP code and county. Help can include checking enrollment timing, providers, hospitals, pharmacies, prescriptions, plan type, prior authorization, SNP criteria and supplemental-benefit rules.

Public sources did not verify the agency's Zing appointment, annual Medicare certification or 2026 ready-to-sell status. Confirm those records before James O'Neal is described as a Zing-authorized agent or submits an enrollment. An agent cannot determine Medicaid, Extra Help or C-SNP qualification.

Seven steps to compare Zing Health Medicare plans

  1. Confirm Medicare entitlement and the enrollment period.
  2. Determine whether Medicaid, a Medicare Savings Program or Extra Help may apply.
  3. Enter the permanent residential ZIP code and correct county.
  4. List doctors, hospitals, pharmacies and full prescription details.
  5. Identify VA, TRICARE, employer, union or other current coverage.
  6. Compare premiums, cost sharing, maximum out-of-pocket limits, networks, formularies, prior authorization, referrals and SNP criteria.
  7. Read the official Summary of Benefits, Evidence of Coverage, formulary and directories before requesting enrollment.

How to compare Zing Health Medicare plans against the alternatives

No carrier is the right answer for everybody, and that includes Zing Health Medicare plans. What decides it is your own doctors, your own prescriptions and how you prefer to pay, in that order.

Start with your providers. Check every physician you want to keep against the plan directory, and confirm the medical group as well as the individual name. That single step rules Zing Health Medicare plans in or out faster than any brochure will.

Then price your prescriptions. Two plans with an identical premium can differ by thousands of dollars a year once your real drug list is run against each formulary. Ask specifically about tiers, step therapy and prior authorization.

Then look at the ceiling, not the premium. Every Medicare Advantage plan carries an annual out-of-pocket maximum; Original Medicare on its own does not. That ceiling is the real protection, and it varies by thousands of dollars between plans.

Commissions are set by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and are identical across carriers for the same product line. An independent agent comparing Zing Health Medicare plans with everything else available in your county therefore has no financial reason to favor one over another.

What 2026 changes for Zing Health Medicare plans

Two federal rules apply to every Part D policy this year, Zing Health Medicare plans included, whether standalone or bundled inside a Medicare Advantage plan. No plan may charge a drug deductible above $615, and once you have spent $2,100 out of pocket on covered drugs your cost for the rest of the calendar year drops to zero.

The Medicare Prescription Payment Plan lets you spread that $2,100 across monthly installments instead of facing a large bill in January. It is worth asking about if your medications are expensive early in the year.

What still changes annually is the detail: networks, formularies, copays and supplemental benefits. The Annual Notice of Change your carrier sends by September 30 is where those changes are disclosed, and it is the document to read before deciding whether to keep Zing Health Medicare plans for another year.

Enrollment windows that apply to Zing Health Medicare plans

Calendar showing the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period from 15 October to 7 December, Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment and General Enrollment from 1 January to 31 March, and the seven-month Initial Enrollment Period around your 65th birthday.
The four Medicare enrollment windows

The windows below govern Zing Health Medicare plans exactly as they govern every other Medicare Advantage and Part D plan. They are federal, not carrier-specific, and no salesperson can extend one for you.

Initial Enrollment Period. Seven months centred on the month you turn 65 — the three months before, the birthday month itself, and the three months after. Part B and Part D late penalties are permanent, so this is the window that costs money to miss.

Annual Enrollment, October 15 to December 7. Open to everyone on Medicare. Whatever you choose takes effect on January 1.

Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment, January 1 to March 31. One change only, and only if you are already enrolled in an Advantage plan.

Special Enrollment Periods. Moving out of a plan’s service area, losing employer coverage, entering or leaving a nursing home, or gaining or losing Medicaid each open a window outside the normal calendar.

Medicare reference charts

One more chart that answers a question we get constantly.

2026 Medicare costs: Part A premium free with 40 quarters and a $1,736 deductible per benefit period, Part B at $202.90 a month with a $283 deductible, and Part D capped at $2,100 a year with a maximum $615 deductible.
